Our questions for both Advanced & Basic pilot certificates for Canada are compliant with June 1, 2019 new rules.
To get your Drone Pilot Certificate, you must pass an online exam directly onto the Transport Canada website. There are two main categories of drone operation: basic and advanced.
Time limits and pass marks are:
– Basic Operations: 1h30 and 35 questions, pass mark 65% (23/35).
– Advanced Operations: 1h and 50 questions, pass mark 80% (40/50).
Are your questions coming from the official exam?
No, as per Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) 901.58, 901.67, and 901.84 with respect to examinations related to RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems), no person shall copy or remove from any place all or any portion of the text of the examination. Therefore, our questions are strictly compliant with the knowledge requirements provided by Transport Canada, but are not the questions you will have at the examination.
Thanks to professional authors, themselves drone pilots and specialists in air law, flight theory, meteorology etc … for writing the corresponding MCQs accordingly. This ensures that you will have the required knowledge to present the exam.
New questions are regularly added to our database as regulatory and/or technical developments evolve.
We strongly recommend to get at least the following score on Drone Exam Canada before taking the Transport Canada official test:
– Basic Operations: 80% of correct answers on the practice exam (28/35).
– Advanced Operations: 90% of correct answers on the practice exam (45/50).
How much does it cost?
We provide two packages:
- 1 month full access for $20.
- 36 months full access for $50.
Both packages offer access to both the “basic operations” and “advanced operations” questions and courses. The 1-month formula allows a quick preparation to pass the basic examination at first attempt! This option may also be appropriate for preparing the advanced exam if you already have a good aeronautical knowledge (and if you can spend 2 to 3 hours a day, every day, preparing for the advanced exam).
The 36-month formula is definitely intended for the “advanced operations” examination. Between 2 and 8 months will be needed to acquire the requested level, the time left on your subscription will allow you to refresh your skills 24 months after passing the exam, as the regulations require you to prove a recurrent training activity every 2 years, and the easiest method to meet this requirement… is therefore to retake the online exam every 2 years !

Drone-Exam-Canada works on any smartphone, desktop like notebook and tablet.
How does the website work?
Prepare yourself on “training mode” first, eliminate questions by answering them correctly from each section, at the end of a section, you can restart the entire section or switch to an other section.
After having view all the sections, you can attempt the “test exam mode”. The system will choose questions randomly and you will be able to know if you are ready for the real exam!
What materials do I need on the day of my exam?
To make diagrams or execute calculations during the examination, you just need a pencil and paper.
Is it possible to share my account?
We are strongly discouraging this, as this would result in a security breach due to a shared password.
Additionally, sharing an account might results in unresolvable file conflicts, due to data being adjusted by the same account on different devices at the same time. Those conflicts might result in data loss.
The time you spent on the website will be wrong, you might not see some questions if a different user answering them and your stats will be erroneous.
